Wrapped children

Hello, friends of the Internet! Welcome to a new chapter of Paulina Kitchen ❤️️, today we are going to cook a classic classic: they are wrapped children and these facts in a very easy way. They are rolls with aromatic and succulent ingredients . It is common to find them wrapped in cabbage, chard or bifes and are inspired by the Arab slab ropes stuffed with rice, vegetables and ground meat.

It is a typical recipe for the gastronomic culture of Arab countries , and is originally prepared with lamb meat , but it also looks very good with beef.

The recipes that I am going to share with you are unique and different , we turn around and are great. Accompany me until the end because I share 3 super easy and interesting options to make a child wrapped with their step by step.

About the original recipe for wrapped children

The famous stuffed meat rolls or wrapped children are called that because they simulate the way the babies were in front of mantitas with the little girls inside.

It is a true gastronomic delight that seems to have its origin in Ukraine, where it is called Ukrainian "Holupchi" , we do not know very well how they reached Argentina, but here they cook many years ago and are highly appreciated at our tables.

The most original is made from three basic elements: cabbage leaves, seasoned minced meat and rice.

The variants of this dish

This dish is present in as many cultures, of which we have probably borrowed some issues. In Italy there are "Uccelli Scappati" that are prepared with pork or veal meat and are filled with bacon and sage. There are also the "stuffed brocole" that are eaten with cheese, pine nuts and raisins, among other things.

Czech Republic , on the other hand, has some that are called “Španělský Ptáček” , these are made with veal meat, mustard, bacon, onion and pickles as base ingredients, to which they can add vegetables, egg and even sausage.

To the north, in Germany and Austria there is a dish of this style called " rinderrouladen" ; They are rolls composed of an onion, cucumber, mustard and bacon fill

In Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and Belarus, “Zrazy” are successful , these are stuffed, delicious veal rolls. Balandėliai ('Pichoncitos') in Lithuania - Gołąbki ('Pichoncitos') in Poland - Golubtsy (голы), Russia , Chou Farci in France and could make a very long list because this recipe is known with its variants, all over the world.

I share this a bit to encourage and try different things around this dish that adapts and if you want it is the most economical or we can also turn it into a gourmet dish. To be creative!

Hello,
did you ever tried parra leaves?
I have Parra, I would love to try it.
But I am zero in the kitchen.
Except with some videos of yours!
For now I got edible to the eggplants and grilled zuchinis. And the kneaded with salt ... I suppose the kale is processed the same ... it is another cabbage (so I go later with my assumptions)
thank you very much for your educational work !!!
