Zamoran Chongos Recipe
Yield : 6 portions
Preparation time : 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 liter of whole milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cinnamon slit
- 1 small piece of lemon peel
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 egg yolks
Zamoran Chongos in 4 steps
- In a large pot he heat the milk over medium heat. Add the cinnamon and lemon peel and let the milk heat without boiling. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and vanilla. Reserve.
- Remove the cinnamon and the lemon peel, add the sugar and mix well until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour a little of hot milk on the mixture stirring constantly.
- When homogeneous, add in the pot and cook 30-40 minutes stirring constantly over low heat until the characteristic "chongos" is formal.
- Remove from heat and let room at room temperature for a few minutes. Serve Zamoran chongos in individual containers and cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
