About this recipe for spinach pie with dried mushrooms.

Cake recipes are versatile, easy recipes that allow us to create a thousand cake ideas without worrying about ruining a dish. Making vegetarian cakes is an easy solution to keep your vegetarian friend from going hungry, and they're even budget-friendly.

Since we all know how to make pies, we wanted to go further, so this recipe allows us to use pie crusts, but with a much more original shape. I'd say I'm a dissident.

Unconventional Pies. In other words, if you want to know what to make with pie crust that's a little more millennial, here you go:

Ingredients

  • 2 cake covers
  • 250g of ricotta
  • Grated cheese 50g
  • 25g of Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 garlic clove
  • 1 spinach tied
  • 6 dried pine mushrooms
  • salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • olive oil
  • mustard
  • sugar

Step by step of this spinach and dried mushroom pie recipe

  1. The first thing we are going to do is mix the ricotta with the chopped garlic and the grated cheese.
  2. Let's wash the spinach and place it in a plastic bag, wet. We seal the bag and use scissors to cut two holes in it. Then, we microwave it for about 3 minutes. When we take it out, we'll see that it's cooked through. Once it's cooled, we'll drain it well and chop it.
  3. In a glass or cup of water, soak some pine mushrooms to hydrate them. Let them soak for a while, then drain and chop them, just like the spinach.
  4. Meanwhile, in a bowl, we will mix the chopped spinach with our ricotta, garlic, and grated cheese mixture, until well combined.
  5. Once the mixture is ready, we add the mushrooms.
  6. We season with nutmeg, salt and pepper
  7. In a pie plate larger than our pastry, we'll roll out the dough and spread the spinach, ricotta, and mushroom mixture on top. On top, we'll cover with another layer of pastry, but without folding the edges, we'll simply cover the filling.
  8. Let's grab a glass and place the edge of the cake in the center of our cake. We'll press down gently on the cake, forming a circle in the center. We'll leave the glass there and grab a plain knife to begin making some cuts in our cake from the glass to the edge, leaving a pizza slice's worth of space between each edge.
  9. Next, we'll take each of these portions and twist them around themselves, forming a kind of spiral (watch the video to understand this better). Once you've finished with all of them, our star will form. Once you're done with the potions, remove the glass from the center.
  10. In a small bowl, add a dash of olive oil, a teaspoon of mustard, and a pinch of sugar. Mix well and then brush the top of the star-shaped cake.
  11. Now, all that's left is to put the cake in the oven. Bake at 180°C until golden brown.
