How to do Bananita Dolca / Argentine sweets

In this program…Paulina teaches us how to make bananita dolca with Matias Chavero!

Hello friends !

In today's video, we're going to get back to sweets. We're going to learn a very original way to prepare bananita dolca, so original that it's very similar to the ones we buy at kiosks.

What I like most about this recipe is that it only has 4 ingredients, and not many people know how to prepare it, so it's an excellent way to surprise our friends and family.

You can try making them and you'll see that both the consistency and flavor are practically the same as the bananita dolca we all know.

This will be the last program in the series of Argentine treats that Paulina and Matías have been showing us, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I leave you with the video, and until next week.

Homemade bananita dolca recipe!

Ingredients

for several bananita dolca

  • 200g of fondant
  • 1 pinch of yellow food coloring
  • Milk chocolate coating
  • Banana essence 2 tsp.

how is it done?

  1. Cut 200g of fondant and begin to soften/flatten/knead it with your hands until it becomes soft.
  2. Once it's soft, we roll it out (as if we were making a small pizza) and add a pinch of food coloring. Be careful here; if you overdo it, it'll turn orange. You have to use VERY little. To get an idea of the exact amount, I recommend watching the video.
  3. Continue kneading until the yellow color is uniform. The entire fondant should be yellow. This part is a bit tedious since the fondant sticks a little, but if you persist, you'll get it completely integrated and yellow.
  4. Break the fondant into small pieces and place it in a bowl. Add 2 teaspoons of banana essence and mix the fondant again, kneading it with your hands.
  5. Shape the fondant into bananas. You might think so, but no: it's not that easy to shape it into bananas. With patience, it's possible. I recommend that if you have parchment paper or plastic wrap, you place them there so they don't stick.
  6. We put the fondant bananas in the freezer for approximately 45 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, in a bowl, melt the milk chocolate coating. This can be done very easily in the microwave; you can follow the instructions on the chocolate package.
  8. Dip the bananas in the chocolate. Place them in the chocolate and use a fork or spoon to turn them over until they're well coated. Then remove them and place them on a wire rack, making sure they don't lose their shape.
  9. Leave at room temperature until the chocolate dries and they are ready!

Hi Paulina, my mom is a huge fan of yours, and we wanted to make these Dalcas bananas, but they don't sell fondant where we live. Could you make a fondant recipe? Thanks!
