About the fetuccini
The fetuccini is a type of pasta originally from Italy , especially from the Emilia-Romaña region, although it is a popular dish in all Italian homes. And in many restaurants around the world.
What does the word fetuccini mean?
"Fettuccine" is an Italian word that means "small tapes . It comes from the Italian word "fettuccia" , which means "small tape . This is because the fetuccini is cut in the form of small tapes.
What is the difference between fetuccini and spaghetti?
Fetuccini and Spaghetti are two different types of Italian pasta that differ in their shape and size:
- The fettuccini is a flat and wide paste , similar to the shape of a tape. Traditionally it is served with creamy sauces, such as fungi or Alfredo sauce.
- On the other hand, the spaghetti is a long and thin paste . Traditionally it is served with tomato sauce or olive oil.
- The texture of the two types of pasta can also vary. The spaghetti usually has a firmer and elastic texture, while the fettuccini is softer and more tender.
Ethyl pairing for pasta
These fetuccinis are usually paired with white medium body and moderate acidity wines that complement their soft and creamy flavor. Some white wines options that work well in this fetuccini recipe to the Alfredo sauce are:
- Chardonnay: This strain is known for its wealth and creamy texture that complements the Alfredo sauce.
- Sauvignon Blanc: This white wine has fresh acidity that can help balance the wealth of Alfredo sauce.
- Pinot Grigio: This medium -body white wine is known for its fresh and soft flavor, which makes it a good option to accompany creamy dishes.
In general, it is advisable to choose dry white wines that have moderate acidity and are not too sweet.
How to accompany fetuccinis
To combine with the fetuccini to the Alfredo sauce, a good cold entry option would be a fresh and crispy salad, because it can provide us with a good contrast of textures and flavors. Some ideas that you could consider:
- César Salad : This classic salad is a popular option to accompany pasta, since the combination of Roman lettuce, Parmesan cheese, crutons and anchovy dressing is going well with the wealth of Alfredo sauce.
- Rúcula salad : The spicy and slightly bitter taste of the arugula can complement the creaminess of the sauce well.
- RES CARPACCIO : This cold entrance consists of thin slices of raw beef accompanied by arugula, Parmesan cheese and olive and lemon oil dressing. The combination of flavors and textures can provide a good contrast for fetuccini Alfredo. If you are a vegetarian, I leave you the Calabacin Carpaccio .
In general, it is advisable to choose cold entries that are light and fresh, with flavors that complement but do not compete with the flavors of the Alfredo sauce.
If you prefer a hot entry to combine with the fettuccini to the Alfredo sauce, there are several options that can complement its creamy flavor and texture. Here are some suggestions of hot entries that you could consider:
- Bruschetta of tomato and basil : This entry consists of slices of roasted bread covered with fresh tomato, garlic, basil and olive oil. The combination of fresh and roasted flavors can provide a good contrast for Alfredo sauce.
- Safe mushrooms : mushrooms sauteed with garlic and herbs can be a tasty and satisfactory option to accompany the pasta. Its earthy flavor can complement the creaminess of the sauce well.
- Calabacines stuffed with ricota cheese: This vegetarian entrance consists of sliced zucchini and filled with a mixture of ricota cheese, Parmesan cheese and herbs. When baking them, they become golden and crispy on the outside and soft and creamy inside, which can complement the texture of the fettuccini Alfredo well.
In general, it is advisable to choose hot tickets that are tasty and comforting, but that are not too heavy or rich, since the alfredo sauce itself is quite creamy and rich. The Alfredo sauce is the chosen one, but with what other options can fetuccini be served?
The fettuccini are a noble paste that we can accompany with a wide variety of ingredients and sauces. Here are some:
- Marinara Salsa: A cooked tomato sauce, onion and herbs.
- PESTO: A sauce based on basil leaves, olive oil, garlic, pinions and Parmesan cheese.
- Salsa and onion mushrooms
- Chicken pieces sauteed with garlic and mixed with fresh spinach and Parmesan cheese.
- Shrimp with garlic , olive oil and red pepper flakes.
- Dry tomatoes and chopped black olives mixed with olive and garlic oil.
There are many other combinations that can be made, fetuccini can also be served with sauteed vegetables, grilled or sauteed chicken, or even seafood. I recommend you try and then tell me.
