Tabulé: The most famous Arab salad

I have the theory that the Arabs put in salads the love that other cultures put in the stir -fry.

The tabulé is perhaps the best known salad within Arab food . It has very common ingredients for us, it is worth knowing. And it is worth doing it with love and patience. It is exquisite.

About this homemade tabulé

One of the secrets of a good tabulé is to understand the role of parsley in the salad. In this case it is not, as we usually use it, a seasoning. The parsley is here as protagonist as the tomato. You have to put a lot. When you put a lot, put more. In the color of the salad, the green will be fundamental and not just a touch.

Ingredients

They are quite simple

  • 1/2 cup of burgol wheat
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 small or 1/2 onion
  • 1 large parsley bunch (1 cup approx.)
  • 1 smallest mounted mint (more or less 1/4 of what we put on parsley)
  • Salt, lemon and olive oil

Step by step Tabulé Recipe

The bullet loaded with tabulé goes

  1. The first thing is to soak the burgol wheat : cover just with hot water and leave a 1/2 hour. If there is excess water, remove it, it has to be as dry as possible.
  2. Cut the cucumber , onion and tomatoes , I like them in very small squares, but it can be otherwise.
  3. Chop the parsley and mint rudely, not too small.
  4. Mix everything well mixed and season with salt , quite lemon juice and olive oil .
