Ancient oatmeal - Ancient oatmeal, or oat flakes, oatmeal is made steamed and rolling them in flakes. They have a short cooking time, 5 minutes, and only require 2 cups of water for each cup of oatmeal. In my kitchen, I use them above all to make baked oatmeal, oats overnight, oat cookies and non -baked cakes.

Fast oatmeal - fast oats is similar to traditional oatmeal, but steamed for longer and rolled more finely. Like traditional oatmeal, it requires 2 cups of water for 1 cup of oatmeal, but it only takes 1 minute to cook. Fast oatmeal is ideal for the days in which you are in a hurry, but to obtain the most creamy porridge, I recommend choosing the whole oat flakes or the oatmeal cut to the steel.

To cook the oats, boil an amount of water or milk adequate to your variety of oatmeal, and incorporate the oatmeal and a pinch of salt. You can also add a spice such as cinnamon, cardamom or turmeric in this phase. Reduce fire and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until oatmealing have thickened until the desired consistency is reached. Then put your favorite ingredients and enjoy!
