Good morning, Lord's little animals.
Various thoughts on this homemade dulce de leche ice cream . I'll list them so we don't get lost:
1. This dulce de leche ice cream is AMAZING. Not only does it compete with a dulce de leche ice cream from a good ice cream shop, but it actually competes honorably.
2. This dulce de leche ice cream doesn't require a machine, so if you're careful with the timing, you can make it at home without any difficulty.
3. This dulce de leche ice cream has 3 ingredients and we love three-ingredient recipes around here.
4. This homemade dulce de leche ice cream will make you the idol of children and adults alike , I promise. And me your idol. In other words: I would be the idol of the idol of children and adults alike. This goes to each and every one of you. One more step in my plans to conquer the world. Thanks for giving me a hand. Remind me in a few years like this:
5. When I'm meeting with my subjects in Davos, if they're nearby, they'll whistle at me. I respond when they whistle at me. And when I turn around, they'll say, "Hey, Paulina, look, I made that homemade dulce de leche ice cream." And I'll say, "Give that one a little fern." Just so no one says I've forgotten my origins.
I leave you with the recipe that I got from a little book by Jimena Monteverde that I love.
Ingredients
For 3-4 portions
- 500g of dulce de leche (not pastry-style)
- 250g. milk cream
- 250g of milk
Homemade Dulce de Leche Ice Cream Recipe
everything by hand
1. Slowly mix the dulce de leche with the cream in a bowl. The cream should be runny, but not whipped. Beat until well combined.
2. Add the milk (fill the empty cream pot with milk) and mix well.
3. Place the bowl in the freezer for 2-3 hours.
4. When it thickens, break it up and blend well again. Return it to the freezer.
5. I repeat this process a couple of times to make it really creamy. You can add chopped chocolate, walnuts, almonds, etc.

Can someone clarify for me whether it is cream for cooking or whipping?
When you say "beat," you mean by hand. Don't you ever use a mixer?
I'm going to do it... but I'd like Paula to answer. Cheers!
I don't need to wait to know it'll turn out well. Simple and effective. I haven't made ice cream in years. Thank you.
After removing it and mixing it again, can it be put into the ice cream molds?
Hello, how are you? Can you make it without cream?
It takes too long
Hello, one question:
With the measurements in the recipe, how much ice cream does it make?
I loved it :). I made it, and then I made it replacing the dulce de leche with Nutella and it turned out really good too! 😀
Is there a way to make it vanilla or chocolate?
Can I do it with dissolved powdered milk obviously?
Hi!! I'm going to try it! I hope I'm not asking too much of a question... In the freezer, do you always put it in a bowl? I mean, without a lid?
I made it several times and it comes out delicious!!!
Hi Pau!! Can I make this with strawberries instead of dulce de leche? I'd have to make strawberry sauce, right?
Hello, is it the same if I use dulce de leche?
You are divine Paulina!
Hi, I'm about to make ice cream, but I bought pastry dulce de leche. Will there be any problem if I use it?
Hi, I have some dulce de leche... has anyone tried making it? Because I don't want to go out and it's the only one I have left at home.
Excellent, I've done it several times.
Hi, I haven't taken it out of the freezer yet, but my sister says it's going to come out and you're a genius!????
Good morning, I can clear up some doubts:
– everything is integrated by hand, with a spoon
– milk: it is liquid milk
– mix well from time to time taking it out of the freezer and it is time to break crystals and therefore it becomes increasingly creamy (I do this about 3 times every 2 hours before you think it is done (to avoid it becoming dulce de leche cubes, let's say)
– the cream (for my taste) is the standard one from the neighborhood store. There is one with 39% and another with 44% fat content. For those who ask,
I hope my contribution is useful (I put a couple of spoons less milk and replace it with Whiskey 😉
Well, I came here to see how to make ice cream at home, and luckily I found this super easy and really delicious recipe! To those who constantly ask, "Is it with a mixer?" the answer is no, and there were clues: the title is one of them, the boy with the spoon is another. On the other hand, if it says "milk," in Argentina we mean fresh milk; powdered milk is used when the recipe makes it clear. Text Comprehension, People
Hellooooo!! Liquid milk or powdered milk? Thank you very much!!!
Hi Paulina!!! YOU ARE A GENIUS!
I love your recipes and I always get 10 points, so THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Question: When you say "disintegrate," do you mean you take everything out of the freezer and it melts?
Thanks so much for your answer! Hugs!
Beat with a mixer or by hand??
Hi, I want to do it! I'm repeating the same question I saw above: When it says beat, do you mean with a mixer?
Is the cream the same as the one we use for cooking?
I literally want to try it, but the QUARANTINE doesn't let me go out, although, I have a kiosk in front of my house, but I didn't have any cream, so I went to the kiosk on the corner but they didn't have any either, so I can't do it (I told half the story of my life XD) (*-*)
Greetings...
Delicious!! 2nd time we've made it at home! We added some hot chocolate pieces and it turned out slushy. The best!
Hello! When you say "beating," are you doing it by hand or with a mixer? Both the first time and after taking it out of the freezer and breaking it up... Thanks!
Question: If you put it in the freezer and then blend it, aren't you defrosting and refreezing it, and is that bad for your health?
How can I explain how GOOD it was?! I'm about to fall into obsequiousness and take my hat off to your recipe.
