Welcome to this edition of Paulina Cocina. Today we present the recipe for roasted chickpeas, which make a great snack!

It's a perfect recipe for lovers of the sound that makes things crunchy when you bite into them. Because, honestly, there must be few things as crunchy as these roasted chickpeas.

We don't have a video to illustrate this recipe (the truth is that it's so simple that I don't think you need it) but you should still know that you can subscribe to my YouTube channel where this one isn't, but there are many more beautiful recipes to see, by clicking here .

About this roasted chickpeas recipe

Snacks are a complex part of our diet. They're delicious and often make us feel spoiled, but most of the snacks we get at the supermarket or kiosk are made of. They're not usually the most nutritious food.

The advantage of making them at home is that we can measure them much more efficiently. Plus, chickpeas, in particular, are a great option.

It's an ideal snack to have for those moments when we feel like snacking, and instead of having to go to the kiosk to buy something that might not be so good to eat, we can have a little jar of these delicious and healthy homemade snacks.

We can also prepare them to serve at a party or children's birthday party. They're a great substitute for chips or salty sticks.

If you like this healthy snack option, here's another recipe, this time for sweet potato chips , which are also a great option to keep in mind when you want to snack.

Ingredients for these roasted chickpeas

a good amount comes out

  • 1 cup of cooked chickpeas (can be 1 can)
  • Salt
  • Seasoning Options
  • 1: smoked paprika
  • 2: curry
  • 3: dehydrated garlic and parsley, grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper

Step by step for this roasted chickpeas recipe

homemade, healthy and addictive snack!

1. If you're using canned chickpeas, the first step is to wash them under running water. If you used pre-hydrated and then cooked chickpeas, this isn't necessary.

2. Next, we'll place the chickpeas on a cloth or dishcloth and let them sit there for a while. The cloth will act as a strainer to help them lose moisture. Then we'll remove them and wring them out thoroughly.

3. Next, season the chickpeas with your chosen seasoning option (I highly recommend all three options) and mix until they are evenly coated in the seasoning.

4. Finally, place them in a baking dish, well separated from each other, if you choose to use all the seasoning options. Bake over medium heat for 40 minutes. Be patient, they need to dry well. Stir them occasionally. You can taste them; the idea is to remove them when they're crispy.

5. When they are ready, we will take them out of the oven and let them cool and then serve. Believe me, they will not last even a minute!

Today I made some... from another author... and she didn't say to boil them... I just let them soak overnight... some came out delicious and others were literally a pain!!!!!!!
So I'll buy more packages and boil them. It's the best snack for those on a diet or just taking care of themselves and loving themselves... not to mention how much chickpeas contribute.
