In the cocktails, sometimes some things are not what they seem. Tea are not tea, juices are not juices and the Moscow Mule has nothing to do with Russia. Did they know? Well today we will learn a lot about this.

So ... to move the cocktail shaker has said just!

About the Mule Mule

What is it?

We have already talked about how to prepare several drinks, from how to prepare the classic Bloody Mary , to how to take the Negroni , a classic cocktail of Italy. So this time we are going to talk about another classic.

In the world of cocktails talking about the Mule Mule dates back to a perfect drink for summer heat, it is a cocktail that is characterized by being elegant and refreshing.

The incredible combination of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice is served in the traditional jug or cup of copper that helps transmit and keep the cold due to the properties of metal. Copper prevents the heat from hand to move to the drink.

It is important that the coating of the containers be nickel or stainless steel. Anyway, not having to use copper for some reason, a wide glass glass can be used. Also sometimes the Mule Mule is called Vodka Buck . Did they know?

What is a Mule Mule

Origin of Moscow Mule

The Mule Mule has the name of Moscow, the Russian city in its name but its origin has nothing to do with this geographical place.

The story comments that there in the 40s and in New York , more precisely at the Chatham Hotel Hotel, three friends decided to create an innovative, easy and the ingredients they needed to market to get out of economic distress.

The creators of Moscow Mule were John Martin, Sophie Berezinsky and Jack Morgan, experts in the world of drinks. Among the three they achieved a vodka drink, ginger beer and a splash of Lima. They added chopped ice, the famous cup of copper and eureka! Thus the Little Moscow , better known as Moscow Mule .

It is believed that the popularity of this drink and the copper cup is thanks to Martín, who toured the US by all bars presenting this drink. This cocktail became fashionable in the 50s in Hollywood by kicking down to reach the rest of the US and the entire world.

What does Moscow Mule mean in Spanish?

While Mule Mule means mule of Moscow , the origin of the cocktail has nothing linked to Russia. Then one of the unknowns that arises is why does Moscow have in his name?

And his explanation is simpler than we believe: Moscow comes through vodka , strongly associated with Russia. While the base is vodka, we must remember that the United States is one of the greatest producers and consumers of this white drink.

What flavor does this cocktail have?

The Mule Mule is a refreshing and spicy cocktail . It becomes more with spicy ginger beer than with vodka and lime. Due to the intensity of flavor from the first drink it is commonly called "mule kick . If we do not have ginger beer, we can replace it with Ginger Ale. While the production of both is different, the taste is quite similar.

The original Moscow Mule recipe carries the vodka Smirnoff. Within this brand you can also use the Smirnoff Red or Smirnoff Black that have more complex flavors.

It is a simple cocktail to prepare, it has few ingredients. I leave a suggestion for when they prepare it: squeeze the lime at the time, that will make a big difference.
